I was looking for a backpack & happen to like this model with a 100 bux price tag. but when the lady scanned it for me, it was 19.77+ tax. I ended up buying 3 w/c is a perfect gift for nephews and nieces. Try your luck.

Can you find a pic of the backpack you bought online and link to it? I searched for "jansport airlift" but I just found a bunch of different Jansport models that use the "Airlift" system. Which particular model is it?

Bought mine for college for $100+. I felt bad for mom who paid for it. But it has lasted me three years strong without a fray, tear, broken zipper, nada. You get what you pay for.

I was just looking at prices and this seems like a great find - I cant find one for less than $70 amywhere!

I have a Jansport though - Does it have airlift? What the hell is airlift anyway?

Man, I was browsing jansports's website and they have some nice backpacks now. I remember back in the day when everyone had the same jansport. I was wondering, what model airlift did you get? There are a couple on the website. Airlift is a technology, not a bag. It's basically this "gelly" layer in the shoulder strap, sorta like wearing one of those gel mousepad rests.

I am using one the airpack models now. It is huge and has a special compartment for my laptop and tools. Great bags and very durable. I think they also have a lifetime warranty.

Yes, Jansport packs have lifetime warranties. I've sent mine in a few times (twice for blown zippers and once for blown-out bottom). Once the repaired it, twice they sent a brand new pack. Same for Lowe-Alpine and even Outdoors from Walmart. Always worth the effort to send one in. You just need a backup for when its in the shop.

Seems like too good of a deal actaully. I'll be sure to check it out this weekend, but in the mean time, I'm with the guy who said if you can post a pic about what kind of backback it is. Curious too.

Yup...most rival companies of Jansport (Eastpak, Ogio, etc) all have lifetime warranties. Backpacks are great, but it sucks when you're out in the real world trying *NOT* to look like a student. :p

i bought my jansport backpacks a long time ago at the vf factory outlet store in the factory shops outlet retailers (san marcos was the exact place i got it from). not sure if the premium or prime outlets have a similar store or not. they were $20 like 10 years ago....at the time the going rate was around $40-50 for comparable backpack in retail stores

both (one bought 10 years ago, the other bought 6 years ago) are still around despite heavy use throughout school -- very well made bags! :)

guagua, i'm was in Baton Rouge, LA area when I bought it. Cortana Mall.

snyder,

its an airlift with 2200cu.in/36L capacity w/ gellycomb inside the strap. also, it has the butt-gripper and scapula and lumbar pads.

guys, i'd love to post pix, but i do't have a cam. I'll scan the tag with pix later and post it.

goodluck again finding it.

BTW, the no. under the barcode is 047649381, if that helps.

I doubt it "has a nice place for a laptop". Would be great if it did, but it just wasn't designed for such things. Anyways, even if you did find a spot for it, it would prolly not fit correctly.
