Airflow in case

Hey everyone.

My system is a AMD64 3500

My current case is setup this way.

1. 80mm Top fan > exhaust
2. 80mm Side fan > intake postioned to blow on about half the processor
3. Processor fan intake

I have room for a 120 in the back and 2 80's in the front blowing over the hard drives.

My question is what configuration should I go for to get the best cooling. I'm assuming the front will be intake while the back should also be intake.

Any suggestions on airflow?

If you just had front and back w/o the blowhole, you would probably want the rear to push out more air than the front pulls in.

Adding a blowhole with front and back both pulling makes the situtation more complicated because you're going to get more turbulence. I would say that even with the blowhole, the front should pull in and the rear should push out. Since each layout is different, experimentation is the best way to find what works best.

the 120mm in the back shoudl BLOW OUT
80mm in the fronttshould SUCK IN
top blow hole BLOW OUT

the side fan can do either, you can expirment to see what was gives you the best cooling

Uhh that 120 in back is the most important fan on your box.
Get one for that position first and exhaust all that hot air!

Usually, side and top fans are an afterthought.

Has anyone heard that the case should be pressurized by 10% of the air flow like I have?
