Converted my old Lian 2100 to a plus II.........noticed that airflow in their airflow examples shows air coming in the back of the case through the CPU aluminum duct. I've ran the main back fan as exhaust before .....so which way is the better route to go on these Lian cases? Exhaust the CPU air or have it Intake air? I purchased it with a Exhaust hood but if intaking air guess I may remove it. I can see more dirt entering case if Intaking.

Anyone out there with 1100s or 2100 cases? I need to know which way you have your fans turned exhausting or inhaling for the CPU duct.

And which way is that swtethan? When I purchased the old version of the Lian 2100 case they have the airflow going out (with an exhaust vent) and now on the new plus II cases I'm seeing the airflow chart and they show airflow going into the CPU duct from the outside. So this is a complete change. I just want to verify with other owners of the new Lian Plus II before I pull my case fan and reverse the airflow. Normally I would think that getting rid of CPU hot air by exhaust is the best idea for a case but since this Lian design is not like the Silverstone tunnel series maybe fresh air is the better route?

It went out when there was no side exhaust. It comes in when there is a side exhaust, so the cool air hits CPU directly then goes out the side.

Overall though it sort of depends on your setup, but as designed is probably best since the 2100 is meant for silence and not performance cooling.

Thanks Krotchy. Yep turned the exhaust fan around so intaking air now and CPU stays cooler.
Guess the question is why didn't the Lian company do this to start with...engineering mistake? The VGA and PCI cards were virtually smoking before and now they are cooler. Cutting a hole in the side the noise went up a little but this is a necessity.

heres my fan layout for my Lian Li V1000B Plus (the old version, not Plus II).

front intake: Delta 120mm x 38mm @ est 3000rpm (forgot model #, bought from sidewindercomputer.com). with stock lian-li front dust filter
rear intake: same as above. with stock lian-li mesh fan guard
Side exhaust: where the graphics card is, Lian Li BS-01 Aluminum centrifuge(?) fan
top exhaust: Aerocool Xtreme Turbine 120mm x 25mm @ 1800rpm (with metal wire grill)

keep in mind.. that hot air travels upward. and that theres always hot-spots in your pc where air will not travel to if you use the front-rear airflow design of most case's
