Airdusting a motherboard?

Is it okay? I am cleaning my ridiculously dusty motherboard to get it ready to sell. Will this harm it, as long as I spray at an angle and from about ten inches away I should be good, right?

Airdusting is fine, its a matter of preference in terms of where you want all that dust going though once it has been momentarily liberated from the mobo.

Personally I vacuum my mobo as best I can first, then airdust at an angle that is captured by a vacuum nozzle on the other side. I don't care to have that crap floating in the air I breath, or for it to resettle on my keyboard, etc.

Better than okay, I encourage it. People would be surprised how much dust can get in the way of proper cooling.

I use my compressor to blow out my PC, either outside if the weather nice or in the garage if it isn't. never had one problem other than a coughing and/or sneezing fit if I let it go too long.

I just downed my temp by 2 degrees after dusting a couple days ago.

Do it!

use your cat to dust it; unlike vacuums, they won't put a negative pressure effect on the more delicate parts of your MOBO. and of course, it will let others know how serious you are about computing

I periodically use a leafblower. Obviously the machine gets taken outside. This is a very effective solution, and has a nice "feel good" coefficient as well.

I've never knowingly had a static issue.
