I tried to book an apartment for $2400 for 3 weeks on Airbnb. This was a listing by a hotel that offers serviced apartments.
The site showed availability but I know this isn't a real time reservation system. The host has to accept your reservation.
The next day, the hotel rejected my reservation but gave me a counter offer. They offered me the room for $3600 and reposted the exact same room for the original price($2400) I had tried to offer.
I contacted Airbnb and they act like this is absolutely fine. No rooms aren't confirmed until the host accepts too. I get that but advertising a room for a certain amount of money, I think that price should be honored unless the room has been reserved and it is no longer available.
Am I crazy for thinking this is pretty much bait and switch?
