I have a ford explorer, 1996 xlt. Recently today the airbag light started to blink and I misplaced the manual for it. I don't know what happened, autozone said they couldn't do anything.
That just reminded me of a car commercial. Two guys are driving down the street and the passenger asks the driver if the recall on the car was much hassle. The driver asks what recall and then his airbag randomly deploys and throws him through the back of the car.
It's prolly gonna be expensive. A friend had the same thing in his 99 explorer, and the stealership told them they had to replace the airbag. They almost wouldn't even give his car back because of liability of them not fixing the airbag (they said). I can't remember off the top of my head what he said it was going to cost to fix.
If it's flashing then your airbags won't go off if you crash. Expect to pay $1000 minimum to get them fixed since airbag work requires specially trained technicians.
Luckily I was able to fix mine myself by simply replacing the airbag computer. Only cost me $115.
Well now the turning signals are not working. Also the right headlight died, but the fog lights both work, Iam guessing a computer failure. Anybody have a problem like this?
