Airbag light in the instrument cluster on in my Mazda3

Checked all the connections, everything is snug under the seats, with the weight sensor under the passenger seat and the airbag control module under the center console/shifter. I'm thinking either the weight sensor itself died, or the control module did.

Anywhoo, do I need to head to the dealer to get this fixed/reset, or is this something any reputable mechanic can take care of?

I'm outside my warranty 4.25x over (153k miles)

Go to a mechanic....any reputable should be able to fix it.
