Air quotes annoying or not?

People who make air quotes while speaking made the list of annoying actions that should be a punishable crime. I don't know why but this doesn't bother me at all. I feel like it's showing that a statement is being qualified in some way. What do you guys think? Are air quotes high on the annoying list?

Depends on their usage. If they're used in a pretentious/snarky/ironic way, then that's douchey. If they're used to represent the fact that a word/phrase isn't the technical term but rather something more relatable (such as describing the CPU as the "engine" of a computer) then I think it's appropriate.
