Air Purifiers

One of my roomates has started smoking in the house against lease terms, but thats besides the point. Today I went to Wal-Mart and purchased a Enviracaire IFD Air Purifier. With one day of use I can already notice a difference in smell and eye irritation within my room. The only bad part about it is that I paid $140 at Wal-Mart, but just found a new one on eBay for $88 including shipping. I was curious if anyone has had any experience with Air Purifiers and what you would recommend? I was looking into an Ionic Pro, but it seems like a joke to me.

Stay away from Ionic Breeze.
I have that and it is a certifiable piece of cr*p.

Get a regular air purifier instead. the pre-filter does not cost that much and you can save some money by vacuuming the dirt from the pre-filter instead of replacing it outright.

I have Honeywell Enviracaire, forgot the model number. It's very quiet for a normal air purifier.
So I'd suggest a Honeywell air purifier.

hepa filters are the only reliable good filters that will remove contaminates of a certian size ... that IOnic crap is pure BS, as it will miss quite alot of particles.

Personally I'd have him kicked out for breaking the lease. Smoking inside in a shared environment is just stupid and wrong.

I figured that was the case. I took one of those Ironic Breeze things out of the box at Wal-Mart and it looked like a joke.

CostCo has a nice HEPA air filter with 3 filters for $99, I think it's a Honeywell or Bionaire.
