ND head coach should be fired.

As much as I hate Charlie Weis, especially since he's beaten my Bruins twice in two years..It's only his 3rd season there, and he's gone 10-3 and 9-3, finished in the top 10 and went to a BCS bowl game. He's had to take over Tyrone Willingham's recruiting classes, which aside for 1 year, has been awful, and is now feeling he effects of it.

Since Weis has been there though he's managed to bring in some decent classes, most of whom are still young now, and next fall he's bringing in the #1 class in the nation--so he's still got plenty of time to prove himself.

I wonder how many of those kids will change schools once the season finishes and ND is 1-10.

ND will find any reason to blame Tyrone Willingham and make Weis some God. Someone forgot to mention that Jimmy Claussen said they were going to win 4 national championships while he was there. Also, where are the players from 3 years ago that Weise recruited? I mean, he should have players that he recruited that are Juniors now. I guess we can blame all that on Ty also.

After 34 games Charlie Weis has a record of 20 wins and 14 losses, one game worse than his predecessor Tyrone Willingham after the same number of games who went 21-13 through his first 24 games as Notre Dame head coach.

Ironic.

More ironic...
who's recuits did Weis do the bolded seasons with? Here's a hint he's black and his initials are TW

This team is mostly Weis' recruits and look how there are doing.

ND will recover because its a good school and has tradition; however, the recovery will be quicker with a coach that knows how to recruit AND coach.

Absolutely HUGE win. There are few fans that understand just how big. It is no exaggeration to state that this is our national championship. This kind of jubilation is rare over the course of a lifetime. Although beating Army is great and they are our biggest rival, there is no hatred towards that program. Notre Dame is our despised rival and beating them is especially pleasing considering the historical context.

GO NAVY!

congrats to the arm forces on winning the war on ND. it was funny to watch Air force running up the score on ND. even ron zook is a better coach compare to weis, after 2 years, taking out the #1 team. amazing.

If you lose to Navy and Air Force back-to-back you should have your football program dismantled. How on earth does a team with all the recruiting advantages of Notre Dame lose to two schools that don't offer athletic scholarships?

Despised rival?!? The Irish have always treated Navy with respect. In fact, ND will always choose to play Navy as long as Navy wants to play ND. In the last 44 years ND has had many great football teams and has done quite well. ND could have chosen to *not* play Navy in the past and opt for someone with a better strength of schedule, but they didn't. How about that for historical context.

All the Irish fans I know are disgusted with this season, but we all agree on one thing... of all our losses this year, the one school we didn't mind losing to was Navy. It wasn't because of the streak, but because of the tradition and the legacy of the matchup.

I am sure that all the Navy fans and Irish-haters out there loved the outcome of the game (justifyably so for the Navy fans). I suppose I'm dissapointed to hear that ND is the "despised rival" of Navy. I always thought that the annual matchup was in a context of better sportsmanship than the other games we play. Perhaps I was wrong...
