Well, he's got a point, even if it flies in the face of the Bush adminstration's stance on the matter:p

Well....I did a google search, and I certainly couldn't find the last time the U.S. government used their "MOAB " on our citizens here, nor cluster bombs, or daisy-cutters, or napalm............so, IMO, that argument doesn't cut it...

They DID shoot those students in 'Nam. But I had thought it was clear that he, and I, were talking about non-lethal only.

Yeah but that brought about the Hippy Protection Act (HIPACT) which forbids the the killing or maiming of Hippies. The Government is only allowed to use non-lethal weapons now.

Wynne told The Associated Press: "If we're not willing to use it here against our fellow citizens, then we should not be willing to use it in a wartime situation, (because) if I hit somebody with a nonlethal weapon and they claim that it injured them in a way that was not intended, I think that I would be vilified in the world press."
The reporter may have taken Secretary Wynne's statement out of context, and the Secretary may actually be advocating against any use of these types of weapons at all.

He said a draft request for bids will be put out next month, and there are two qualified bidders: the Boeing Co. and a team of Northrop Grumman Corp. and European Aeronautic Defence and Space Co., the majority owner of European jet maker Airbus SAS.
i'm trying to decipher this sentence. is it boeing and northrop or eads and northrop?

judging from the wikipedia article, i'm going with boeing and grumman, as they have a history of collaboration.
