Air Flow - Fan configurations

Inside of you case, Is it better to have Positive Pressure, Negative Pressure, or Equal air flow.

If you had 3 fans in the back and 3 fans in the front of your case. Would you have all 6 turning at the same speeds with 3 intake and 3 exhaust? What would be your configuration of this situation.

You are gonna get a hundred different interpretations of what is best for you, if you have time/money/effort just try all three scenarios and see what yields the best temps.

amcdonald is right. you will always wonder if the grass is greener on the other side, so try them all.
the idea in the end will ultimately be to move air through the cpu heatsink as fast as possible.

supposably, "negative preassure" is better for cooling, for example think about preassure cookers. posative preassure is better for dust etc, because the only air going into the case goes through the intake fans, where you can filter it, whereas "negative preassure" will have to drag the extra air in somewhere and that means all the little holes like around cdrom drives. equal preassure means a bit less of both posative/negative. In short make it roughly equal and only the most anal have anything to worry about.

I had felt that equal would be the way to go. I can generate about 270cfm exhaust in the back and about 250 intake in the front. I can then taper the exhaust down a bit with my rheobus. I could also play around a with negative and postive pressure. 3 80mm tornado's in the front. 2 80mm tornado's in the back and a 92mm tornado in the back.

back = 84.1 + 84.1 + 119 = 287.2
front = 84.1 + 84.1 + 84.1 = 252.3

I suppose that is a bit much in air movement. I am just gonna run most of them at 7v and see how much heat I can generate with my rheobus 🙂.

I dunno mostly brainstorming to try and find ways to spend money......

I have PayPal... 😉

I also have to agree you should probably try all three setups and see what works bes tfor you. Maybe try with 2 and 2? I would think all those fans would get loud, though I like white noise and don't mind my total 8 case fans (9 if I switch the extra exhaust on) and 2 PSUs with 2 fans each. (Two cases)
