air filter advice, please help

i'm thinking of putting air filters behind my 80mm fans that suck air into the case...does having air filters hinder the air flow rate? and what are some of the better filters to get. thanks much

little air restriction?!?!?!??!?!?! i got the aluminum ones which hurt airflow less than the plastic ones, but i noticed a 30-50% decrease in airflow........they are USELESS.....your case doesnt get THAT much dust in it anyway......ive had mine runnin for 3 months now, and when i open it up i can barely see some dust particles.......its just a waste of money, and i found out the hard way........

I stick a regular A/C filter inside the lower front Panel of my Antec Sx1030. The bottom part only b/c the bottom fan is blowing in, while the top(Hard drive cage) is blowing out.

I think Mikewarrior2 use bounty dryer sheet.

you don't need the filters... i have 2 120mm fans sucking in and although there is dust build up inside, it's not enough to stress over ... airflow is ultimately more important than a few dust particles here and there...

Dust, depends on where you live.. here in Berkeley there's so much dust, even with an air filter (chenbro genie) dust builds up in some places in my case =(.

I've seen some folks mention using dryer fabric softener sheets... makes your PC smell nice too 🙂 Haven't tried it myself.

i have some fiberglass mesh(about 1mm gaps in the threading) which i have over the 80mm intake in my case, and it's horrendously dusty down here in the basement, it does a decent job of keeping the dust out, and i just need to run my hand over it once to get all of the dust up 😉

of course, the inside still gets dusty, but it's not a concern of mine. so long as it doesn't catch on fire, i'm ok 🙂
