ok air cooling does not cool the cpu to well without lots of noise (delta black ect.) is water cooling safe and is that much quiter? How does one install all the parts and what all do i need to buy? Is there something other than water you put in or, will tap water do?

water cooling is not quiet.. you always need a fan on the damn radiator.. make something up yourself using 7v mod's for cooling of the water.. through the radiator.. then it'll be quiet..
otherwise you'll have yourself a 50db-a 120mm fan on a radiator that you'll need to have on almost all the time.. if you are smart you can achieve perfect silence and still have. cool CPU.

if you're not ocing you could do the stock HSF, which are some of the quietest....

edit: hehehe, at first, I thought you needed something watercut. anyway if you need any metal up to 3" of steel watercut, be sure to let me know....

Installing water-cooling is a pretty advanced and expensive project unless you're a super-overclocker.

It' probably a lot easier and less expensive to work on good case air intake/exhaust ventilation and just buy the most efficient air-cooled heatsink/fan combo you can afford.

Hope this helps!

you can also have air cooling thats not to loud...I run my XP1700+ at 1.65Ghz with a Vcore of 1.85..under full load (using Folding@Home) my temps are currently 32c..and my HSF is not a great one either..its a ThermalTake Volcano 6cu+ with Artic Silver 3...I also have 3 120mm fans on the case door (intakes) and 4 80mm fans in the case as exaust...

It is louder then the average PC, but its not all that loud....remember with water, you have 1 or 2 fans for the radiator , the sound of the pump, the expense of the parts, and ALWAYS the risk of a LEAK...not to mention making sure you have enough room in your case for the Radiator, the Resovour, and tubing going all over the place....

you don't need to put your resevior in your case.. you don't hear submersible pumps and most pumps don't even make much sound anyway.

You won't get leaks as long as you use those metal straps.. that you tighten with a screw driver.. the little metal band get's smaller as you turn the screw.. use those and you won't have a problem.

Like I said if you are smart enough.. you can do a very quiet water-cooling setup... or check this out, www.geminicool.com

His setup.. is virtually silent and runs very good.

Having just installed a water system for the first time...
Dunkster hit it on the head--it's quite a project. A premade kit will make things easier, although these can get expensive. I still have 4x120's running at 7v so my machine isn't exactly quiet but the sound is mostly air-noise instead of motor-noise. Very careful installation will eliminate leaks. All of my equipment is sold as water-cooling but none is clasified as 'performance' equipment but I was able to lower my temps by 7º. For performane per unit of sound, water is the way to go...just do your homework before starting such a project. Overclockers is a good resource.
