Well I've been living without A/C for the past few days.. while it sucks ass I am slowly getting used to it even though it is 80 inside (90s outside).

Before AC, people had the sense not to build massive heat-absorbing places of work in uninhabitable areas. 🙂

I currently have 1 air conditioning unit in my bedroom. The rest of the house is hot. I have a 2nd unit, but we haven't put it in the other bedroom yet. I'm looking at either getting central a/c this year or buying a 12000+btu unit for my downstairs. I can't deal with the heat when it is over 80 in the house. No way.

Before clothing, people had the good sense to not venture in the frigid climes of uninhabitly cold regions.

Plus, before AC, we had Swamp Coolers out here. Not quite as good as AC, but it made it liveable.

I have family in Pheonix and they don't use A/C much in the summer. Evaporative cooling is the popular solution there. It uses a fration of the energy needed for conventional building HVAC.
