Hey guys, I found a 5000 BTU air conditioner at Home Depot tonight for $55. I bought one of these for a room in my apartment anyway, but for $55 I firgured what the heck and bought two and was thinking of sticking one of these by the intake fans (Which is 2 3500 rpm fans and 2 5500rpm fans) on my computer case.

Would I have to worry about condensation or anything like that, or should I go ahead and give it a go?

Sounds stupid and will look even stupider but hell for $55 I can put it to use elsewhere if it doesnt work.

Thanks

These A/C units generate about 550W of heat that needs to be exhausted out the window. Are you going to build some sort of exhaust duct from the 2nd unit to the window?

Never even thought of that. No but I could Put it in the window and put the case in front of it. Hell the case is already in front of it I would just have to turn it around.

But what about the condensation?

yes, u should be worried about condensation. you can try putting some kind of filter in for that. don't leave it on without one, or else it will build up, and damage your pc parts.

If the case is sitting NEXT to the air conditioner, I don't think you have to worry about condensation. The air never gets THAT cold. And you'll get NICE cooling. It'll take a lot of power though. if you're gonna keep it on 24/7, be prepared to pay the bills.

If you are lucky like me, I dont pay utilities :D Mad deal for my apt.

Anyways, you dont need 2x Air conditioners in one room... Just put your computer case near it and you should enjoy some nice temps.
