AC puts out cold air (had compressor replaced last summer,) but suddenly the blower/fan stops working 90% of the time. The other 10%, it just sounds horrible (like a broken PC fan) and stop working after 5-10 minutes. With Texas summer coming up, no AC (unless the van is moving at 60mph) will not be nice (It's already a pain in April.)

That said, is this something I can fix myself? The Van is a clunker and I'll probably be getting rid of it soon, so I'd rather not sink a lot of $$ into it, but I need something short-term for sitting in traffic.

Is this what I need?

Blower Motor - 1997 Dodge Caravan

If so, it doesn't sound too complicated to replace.

Seems that is what you need-If it is, open the glovebox and disengage the checkstrap (the cable that keeps the door from hitting your knees) and remove the door.
Blower motor cover should be right there-4 screws for the cover and 3 for the motor.
Unplug it and pry out the gromet.

While you have the motor out clean out anything that is in there.

Sounds good. I'll to an initial check tomorrow to make sure that's what's not working, then order one.

Thanks.

Be aware that you may have a bad switch/resister also-you fix it and it sounds OK but speeds 1 and 2 don't work.
