My apartment is in the same building as a small general store. During the summer, dumbass teenagers and college students like to hang out at the store, and sometimes wander around to the side. The problem is, they sometimes like to bang their palms on my window air conditioner, which bends the fins on the condenser coil.
Ideally, I'd electrify the thing with 50KV at, oh, maybe 500 amps, and turn it into a punk-zapper. It'd be fairly cheap to do, but the power company probably wouldn't like me tapping into their wiring.
So, with that option aside, I'd just like to mount some metal bars over the outside of it so that they can still be drunk dicks and bang on a metal object, but keep said metal object safe at the same time.
Is there some term I can search for on hardware stores? I'd need a number of bent metal rods, with flattened areas on the ends which have holes in to allow mounting with nuts and machine screws. Searching for "metal bar" probably wouldn't turn up the right thing, so that's why I'm asking here.
