Air Conditioner Advice

I'm going to be buying my first ever air conditioners this week. one for my bedroom (small room, little-to-no air circulation outside of the AC itself), and one for our living room / dining room / kitchen (lots of airflow, three doors opening to non-airconditioned rooms and hallways).

anyone have any advice for what to look for or any tips on how to save money? up until this point, I've either had no air conditioners (my college apartment... no need, since it cooled off by the middle of September) or central air (home), so it's not something I've had to deal with.

Visit your local CostCo or Home Depot.

CostCo has a 5350 BTU air conditioner, energy efficient for $99 ... they also have a larger Panasonic 9000BTU for around $269.

I bought a 5200 Samsung for my daughter bedroom at ABC Warehouse and I can't ever hear that thing run it's so quite.

For the larger room I would recommend something larger, like 10-15K BTUs

You're talking a window-mounted one, correct?
Check dimensions.

Good advice. Also hopefully your window is vertical (slides up and down), it makes a/c installation a lot easier.

Carrier or Trane?

I'm guessing whoever can tell ya that will tell ya who makes a better truck Ford or Chevy
