Air Bag Problem? Anyone familiar with it

Light on dashboard been going on and off for couple days, stopped my two different mechanics that i usually go to, they dont have program for airbag diagnostic reffered me to some other place. dude said $80 just for hooking up the computer. he told me usually all he does is reset airbag system

I called autozone they dont have software either, guess only option to drive around and find better price

called few more diagnostic places all charge same rate just to hook it up

You need to take it to the dealer. When you see that light go on, it means, obviously,
that something is wrong with the system. However, generally when there is a problem
the computer completely disables the system.

if mom and pop shop charges $80 just to hook up for error code, you can bet dealer will charge double or more

i just got my car back from the dealer for a dash light for the airbag system.... it is still under warranty (extended) so i can't tell you what it cost... heh i don't even know what they did to it...

I can tell you what they did, they simply reseted all settings for airbag, and he said it only resets for about 1 year and half

I doubt it, they will probably charge you 1 hour for diagnostic, unless it
turns out to be a wireing problem.

Its like anything else on the car, it could be a bad sensor, bad computer, bad wireing.
You should get it fixed soon because as I said in my last post, your airbag most
likely will not go off if you get into an accident until you get it fixed.

Wne to bodyshop I know, owner told me to not waste time and money and ignore the light. but godforbid i get into accident and airbag doesnt deploy
