Hey all, posting this for my guild leader; who wants to get the word out about or efforts to create the next roaming server.

Rayyn - Pfb
------

Those of you who played DAoC can recall how many servers endorsed roaming and group vs group pvp in specific areas while the zergs stayed in others. Seeing how Aion shares many of the same characteristics as DAoC we (The Combine and PfB) want to put together a community that fosters such an environment. We wanted something away from the random masses to select a more private server that heavily focuses on competitive group vs group and guild vs guild pvp. We chose Nezekan.

Let me explain a little bit about our thoughts on the server. Our hope is to eventually designate a certain area of the map (some place not often travelled) that is reserved for group vs group pvp. This opens up the rest of the map for everything else like normal. We understand not everyone is going to follow this, but most will respect it. This creates a great opportunity to build a competitive environment for all aspects of the game especially the large faction battles at fortresses and helps foster a great community on both factions.

Regardless of how it turns out, we will try and hold weekly events for things like roaming pvp nights, arena style tournaments, and etc. We have done this in the past with games from Shadowbane to World of Warcraft. Here is an example of some of those events we've done in WoW pre-tbc. Events we have done

We invite anyone who is serious about competitive pvp to join us in this endeavor and help create the best pvp server, for both group vs group and faction vs faction, in the game.

Thank you very much for this post, I was hoping something like this would happen, similar to Tichondrius being the PVP server in WoW :)

No problem; many people are claiming "Siel" as the premier pvp server, but Nezekan is being made up of many veteran guilds that have played with and against each other for a long time; way before WoW.

If you want mindless zerg pvp, head on over to siel, because thats likely what your going to get.

Now I am not saying zerg pvp and keep taking is great fun, because it is. But we want to create a community that wants to do some competative group v group; especially because Aion still lacks a true arena system like WoW. It is up to the community to create "extra" activities until NCsoft adds in the functionality itself, and even then it may not be exactly what we are looking for.

I will update the post more later, I am at work and am unable to check many of the sites do to the web filter.

For now, keep up to date by checking the two links i posted

Hope to see many AT players on nezekan!

PS: You mentioned Tich, which became the premier server (BG9 cluster) later on in the game, orginally Archimonde was where we rolled, which until BC was the #1 place to be, but that faded after BC and then Tich, and BG9 became the primary PvP server/s.

I will make no claims that Nezekan will be the most populated server, but It will be there server that many competative, like minded guilds will be playing, and will make a great home for anyone who is interested in roaming pvp

Very exciting, it was a huge dissapointment when I got on Dark Crag the zergiest of zergfests in WAR. What was really frustrating was how fun lower end rvr was at times compared to endgame... I'm heading a small Asmodian guild that will most likely be going Nezekan (looks like Ruin is going Siel). I'm not sure if we fit you're guild list style but we do intend to do some heavy pvp. If we do our guild is <Entropy> and our webpage is http://qovert.com (no on seems to get this name... oh well). Hope to see a lot of ATers Asmo side!

I'm seriously thinking of getting this if they fix the lag issues in the next ccouple of days. When it wasn't lagging, it was pretty fun.

Hopefully I can get back something even a little similar to those old school DAOC memories.....really I just hope for a DAOC2 though.

Awesome! I would not worry about having low pop guild; thats the awesome thing about this community we are trying to create; where you don't HAVE to do the mindless zerg pvp to have fun. Of course all the guilds will still take forts and all the normal things as well, but at least once a week we will have roaming nights, tournies w/ in game prizes or something.

I will be finally updating the guild list here tonight when I get home

Thats the plan, and oh yeah....im sure everyone would take a REAL DAOC2 (Not lame WAR) anyday. I am just VERY skeptical that DAOC2 would be good even if they made it now....it's not the same Mythic anymore....that Mythic is gone....

I had huge lag problems until I 'fixed' game guard. Which removed all lag and random crashes from the game. Got to love their rootkit.

Yah, I am definitely not a fan of gameguard. There are ways to disable it, but I am not sure if they monitor that and may flag your account for it...

The game is great though, so I can put up with it to play.

I would check what background apps you are running, gameguard doesn't get along with random apps.

I can confirm that GG gives me no troubles when using EVGA Precision, or ventrilo, or winamp, other then that I have done no further testing.

Also, from what I've seen there haven't been too many gigantic guilds claiming Nezekan as their server. Flawless is on nezekan for open beta but I'm not sure if they'll stay.

depends on the term gigantic, if you are looking for WoW arena teams, then no, most of them haven't fully made any decisions yet from the looks of things, but a lot of guilds that are rolling here house veteran players, who have been around since Ultima, EQ, DAOC, and everything before WoW.

Not really notable, but we severely outleveled flawless in OB, but that doesn't count for much because most people arn't pushing 100% in OB.

The Combine, Darkhand (DDH), Defenders of Order are all very seasoned guilds, and you should have definitely heard of them from somewhere (There accomplishments in WoW are not very notable, though)

As for PfB, most people probably heard of us at some point; also our WoW accomplishments where not made under the PfB tag, most of the original PfB members tagged under a different guild for WoW, Misfits, which became Relentless on Archimonde.

Basically, PfB today is made up of original PfB members, a couple ex WMD (you may have heard of WMD from Shadowbane), Some ex Nurfed members, and what remains of Misfits/Relentless from archimonde (this is all pre-BC wow stuff) along with some others that we have picked up in recent games

The most notable accomplishment is by some of our good friends who are all still members of PfB, but are still kind of stuck on the WoW arena circuit: Sck Douja and Noktyn (Team pandemic). Noktyn is actually ex nurfed, but he commonly plays with us when he decides to roll another game besides wow (which basically never happens).

Basically that whole wall of text was just to say, while you MAY have not heard of some of the guilds on the list (Check the Aionsource link for the most up to date list)

That does not mean they are not highly competitive guilds with top players, many of us just despise what WoW has become...so you won't hear of any "Notable accomplishments" that we have made in WoW recently because....none of us play it?
