AIO printers

Anyone with a all-in-one multifunction printer, reply to this post with which one you have and if you like it or not.

Got the Brother MFC-665CW

It's copies/scans/faxes/prints, has a lcd screen and is wireless capable-- prints are lackluster--colors seem dull compared to other printer outputs. Called Brother for support was a waste of time.

This unit is going back, prob will get hp or canon.. these companies have so many aio models out, hard to pick.. don't care if its wireless or not.. but it must scan/copy/print and do it well.

Had a Epson CX5400 that printed really nice--colors were vibrant.. till the printer died.

Would like to hear from others who own multfunction printers.

A lot of folks on this forum suggest you avoid them - my sister has a canon 830 and likes it my mom the canon 500 (no fax). Neither are heavy users. I've read quite a bit on the 830 and it seems that most folks like it but a few have problems the never seem to go away. Anyways I think canon is comming out with a new model this year. In the stores the new hp look pretty nifty and now have invidual inks but not sure how they compare to the canon...
This site has a good overview of reviews et all:
http://www.consumersearch.com/...ter-reviews/index.html

(they prefer hp printers and canon multiprinter but they are not brand oriented (which is good)).

Just a word of caution about Canon:
Their product support is horrible. They don't even offer downloads for their manuals :|. If you happen to loose a manual, then you have to purchase a print from a third party if you are lucky to live in a country where there is such a partner (which I'm not).

thanks for the info all, don't print color every day.. prob 3x a month, but when i do, want it to look darn good. problem with epson printers, they have to clean the heads if you don't use it for a while. which wastes a lot of ink. never called a printer company for support yet, if the printer does its job.. no need to call.

I have two units ... A Lexmark X73 that Dell sent for free 4 years ago .. Still works ok for Black, Color smudges
a bit, but that could be dirty paper path or bad cartridge. Scans fine. Does not have FAX or Auto Sheet Feed or Duplex.

Just this year picked up an HP7410 brand new for $225 .. It can Scan / Copy in BW or Color, it can Duplex, it has Auto
Sheet Feeder, it can Fax, do Envelopes, has 2 paper Trays and can handle Legal Size documents on a Full Flat Bed
Scanner ... works great, except for the cost of cartridges .. HP doesn't allow anyone to Discount Them. And the software
is a bit big in size for what it needs to be. It also has an Internal Network Card & a built in WIFI Card so you can link it
to a Wireless Router for printing. You can set up both the USB & Wireless at the same time. Works nice.

Brother MFC-7820.
Works well but is a B&W laser so no color.
But using it in a business and only need b&w so works fine and prints are cheap
States 20ppm but its about 15-17ppm.
Staples has it for 299.00 with a 50.00 rebate.
