AIO inkjet advice please

I am in the market for an AIO with these features:

Inkjet
Good print/scan quality (I basically mean decent, it really doesn't have to be anything fancy, just not bad)
Good ink economy strongly preferred
Scan function can create PDFs with modifiable text (is it possible to just buy Acrobat and have it do this with any scanner?)

Networking, wireless, and fax are NOT necessary and not desirable if they significantly increase the price.

Please let me know which brands and models are good lately even if you're not aware of one that meets all these requirements. Thanks!
 
Acrobat can generate PDFs from any scanner or some scanners can generate PDFs and upload them somewhere.

For the type of device you are looking for, fax is more or less standard but network and wireless are not.

What is your price range?
 
As long as you do not demand tip top quality for inkjet photoprinting, I would say that the best choice may be in the brother brands of inkjets.

IMHO a distinction that brother does anything to earn with merit, but something brother gets by default because they may be the lesser of all evils rip off turkeys in the inkjet printer markets now.

The whole damn lot of inkjet vendors are totally disgusting now, but can one turd be better than another? Sadly, in the real world, some turds are better than others, but eating turds are never a delicious dilemma.
 
Lemon Law -- What did you mean by that? The ink cartridges are not chipped or something else?
 
Canon seems to get good reviews. But yeah most are junk and slow.
Try the canon MP870. It has a good scanner and good print quality.

Sorry for not responding earlier econ, but I did not revisit this thread until today.

But yes, not chipped is what I mean. Making refilling much easier. As for me, I like unchipped Canon's, but they go for huge premiums on the used market now if you can even find them.

And your ideal choice might be a Canon MP760, which has a higher quality scanner than a MP750.

As for the new chipped Canon's its possible to beat the chips and refill, but it takes research and effort most will not do.
