AIO cooler leak!

So I have an Enermax Liqmax II 240 watercooler. It started leaking! It looks like only a few drops may have leaked so far. I removed it, will start the RMA process tonight. Hopefully my memory and MB are okay (i started getting memory errors, which alerted me to the problem). I suspect that even if there is damage, it isn't covered by the warranty. I'll let everyone know how the RMA process goes. I'm a bit leery of using the replacement though... I might just want to buy a new Corsair unit to replace it.

leaks really suck.
ive had lots of bad leaks before and gotten away lucky, and had a devistating loss where it completely took out my gpu's in SLI.

Its funny because i dont even consider someone as an advanced watercooler, until they have had at least multiple leak experience. The real experts dont even bat twice if there is a leak, we just rage and yell lots of bad words at how stupid of an "oops" we did (90% of the cause is because we cut corners and rushed), and systematically fix it while trying to save the hardware.

Make sure u clean every spot you see with alcohol, and allow all the components to throughly dry out.
Again make sure you have no residue of the coolant on anything as it can cause a short.

@aigomorla: B-b-but it's a cheap asetek-clone CLC, not a proper loop with user serviceable parts. Once it leaks it's done. RMA or bin it. Or both.

There are enough nice air coolers out there that work as well or better than as most AIO's that I have never tried an AIO out myself.

Dedicated loops if you're serious, but I do not like water near my electronics.

I recognize the hobbyist aspect of it.

Just my two cents.

Jeez, MonGrel! Even I, too, would've thought that YOU would've migrated to water by now. But I remember some photos of an earlier rig -- maybe the same ! -- that you built with a D14 or D15 -- push and pull every whicha way. I think that was you, even with the aging mind-fog settling in my brain.

Given the heatpipes available, it just seems like better bang for the buck. On my latest rig, matching a Predator 240 with a TR cooler is 5C from my grasp, and it works out to about $26/C-degree if I'd chosen the EKWB model. Water may have the edge, but it's not very big unless you use two radiators or go with an external unit. you know -- "what's the goal and objective?" "How much does it cost to get there?" The cost also includes the trouble with the annual maintenance, whether it's more or less.

My acknowledgement to the water aficionados is both diplomatic and genuine. Water is not only more efficient, but water rigs are an art-form. For fitting it all in a midtower, if I can come this close to "water performance," I'll organize a club for air-cooling and you can have Emeritus membership.

Like I'd said -- water-cooling can be an art-form.

Look at you, man! It may be socket-1366, but it's HEXA-core!!

If I'd had to RMA this month or discover that something "wasn't right" with my Skylake, I could easily have regretted it. my SB-K socket-1155 systems are still great for my needs. But someone wants to buy the 2600K system -- case and all.

It's been really hard to "let go . . . ", even for better than salvage value . . . .
