AIM works on the Nintendo DS!

isn't that a homebrew application? I prefer just to use the opera browser.

on another thought, mapquest works on it too, so this could potentially be a life saver whenever I'm lost and there is a McDonald's nearby. sadly, ATOT refuses to load (Cannot connect to remote server =\)

The thing about these browser friendly versions of AIM is they run on private servers. Meaning only like 100 people at a time can be using it. With aimonpsp.com it was bad enough having all PSP users fighting for access to the server, but now with DS users thrown into the mix it can only get worse. If they actually expand the number of servers you can expect it to be loaded with advertisements. I'm still patiently waiting for a real messenger client for my PSP, and a keyboard too. DS has that nice touchscreen for input.

Meh, you guys should just get cell phones or pdas that are capable of internet browsing, either would blow away the psp and ds. (windows mobile ftw with opera mobile, or nokia internet tablet with minimo)
Seriously, if it's more than just a novelty for you, you'll get better browsing, stronger wireless strength, and what not with a device made for internet browsing.

ironically if you use the following mobile version of AIM:

http://www.aimonpsp.com

also works with:

http://www.ebuddy.com

this really adds value to the nintendo ds browser 🙂

i'm about to buy a ds.

They are both compromised versions, but at least on the DS, you have two big screens, one of which gives you the inherent input advantage of a touch-screen. I would put the DS Opera browsing experience to be somewhere between a PDA and Cell Phone.

Well, once again, if you're actually getting serious use out of a DS internet browsing (and not just playing around), I think it'd be worthwhile to pick up something more suited. PDAs are available with wifi starting at around $100, and $200-$250 will get you a 640x480 res one. The addition of flash alone would make it worth it imo, not to mention tabbed browsing.
