AIM Web CAM function + INSTANT BSOD

when i click the Web cam Function on Aol Instant Messenger, my system instantly crashes within 3- 4 seconds by the time of connection. I have no idea y. i figure perhaps it's the A64s because the function works perfectly on my 4.2g pentiums.

It's obviously not the A64 chip itself causing the problems..

It's either software conflicts, or you OC isn't ANYwhere near stable..

he said its either unstable or there are software conflicts. Meaning its only one, not both. Is the OC memtest stable?

Its definately not the A64, there's no reason the chip itself could do that unless its unstable, and you said it's stable, so it can't be the chip.

it's Mix test stable on prime 24hr. I've played games and such in a row, exp Doom3 Halo, more Doom 3. And it never crashes, But as soon as AIM WEB cam goes on, IT DIES BSOD.

Run small FFT's prime95 for a long time (10+ hours) and then loop memtest for another 10 hours. Then it can be considered stable.

Ya the blend test is not the one to run..

Is it SuperPI 32m stable? That is much more sensitive to memory issues..

I say run memtest86 like CheesePoof said..

But again, it's not the Chip itself, it's something else.

yeah, blend test kinda sux. i'd do large and small and occt.

also, which bios is that you have, i don't understand the htt in your sig.

He's running somewhere around 282 with 4x LDT multiplier..Multiplier of 9.... Most likely your problem..

I don't know if you saw the link earlier today, but running your HT faster than 1000 means NOTHING.. You can run it as low as 200 and suffer a very minimal performance hit..

I see lots of stability issues over 1000 ( 2000 effective )

Calm down. Would it kill you to loop memtest overnight and Prime95 SmallFFT's as opposed to the blend test? Also try lowering your LTD to 3x. It will not hurt your performance at all, because the hypertransport bus is nowhere near full. You can lower it to about 400mhz before you will begin to see a performance drop.

Its probably not the CPU though, my guess is its a software problem. Have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling aim? Or you could use a different client (I use trillian, its free and works with aim, icq, msn, yahoo, etc).
