AIM users

Hey people...
I just noticed that I have this rectangular box on my system tray man icon. It is half greeN? or teal and half yellow with something in it and a hyphen like dash ( - ) on top of the green/teal/gray side covering the feet of the "Man" icon.

What is it?
I never noticed it before.

If someone could tell me what it is and if it's harmful to my system...i'd appreciate it..

Is it blinking? It might be the New Mail indicator. It suddenly appeared on mine last week because I apparently have an @aim.com email address now. I just disabled the notification in the preferences.

sheesh i tried looking at aim and aol sites to see what it was... they don't have any info on it that was easy for me to find.

And i thought something was wrong cuz I didn't update it and neither did my bro... but i have it ... he doesn't...

It is the mail indicator,wheter you use aol mail or not.

Go to MY Aim, Edit Options
preferences;
mail,
UNCHECK Display mail alert option. 😉
