Remember back when Weatherbug was useful - it gave us accurate weather reports straight to our desktop? And look at it now. Will AIM become the next Weatherbug? It's playing with a fine line here, in my opinion, loaded down with ads and banners and this whole "Viewpoint" thing leaves me a bit weary. I still use it, Trillian and Gaim intimidate me, but I just hope I can keep using it in the future.

For an IM client, I use Trillian. For weather services, I use Forecast fox - right at the bottom of my browser it tells me the four day forecast, local radar, and warns me (like today) of any serious weather moving into my area.

I don't really care about Weatherbug now, I have the weather in my Objectdock so I can just look at it and see it.

I'm still using an ancient version of AIM with ads stripped out of it. Beats the new version, IMO.

The free version of Trillian is good enough for me. Then again, I rarely login to the IM servers and don't any more than the basic package offers.

MrVile, what about Trillian intimidates you? It's super easy to configure and it's not a resource hog in any way.

weatherbug annoys the sht out of me. seems like every time the temperature goes up a degree they have to flash an alert to you.

i once got literally 3 frost warnings in an hour once. frost warnings?
