Wow, the sounds are so loud.
I have been re-recording them at lower volume to fix this problem.
Anyone else have solutions?

Turning off AIM sounds is a bitch, 15 check boxes just to make the damn thing silent?

Trillian is great about that.

I change the receive/send message to a 'click' sound....one of the windows sounds. I left the regular sound on for when you first receive a new message.

The only sound you really need is when a message box pops up for the first time. They're for notification, aren't they?

Trillian's default email notification sound kicks @ss.

I agree. Get rid of them, except for the first message received sound. My roommate just changed his to a chicken clucking....

I only use sounds for new message and replies. I like them loud because I am not always in front of the computer.

haha i remember in the dorms going down the hall and listening to every freakin AIM and ICQ sound going nutz......why on earth would someone have a sound play everytime you send/receive a message? esp when you've got more than 3 or 4 conversations going at the same time!

How are the sounds louder than say the mp3s that you play? You can just turn down your volume.

I like the AIM sounds actually. It lets me know when I have a message, although having the task button flash works to an extent. I only have the receive sounds on though and not the send sounds, there is absolutely no point in having it play a sound when you send a message.
