AIM Question - Software bug, or blocked?

I keep two screennames - one of them nobody knows about. I use it only if I want to check if somone is online without the possibility of being IM'ed by someone else.

So I couple days ago, I signed on to the secret account by accident and noticed that someone I hadn't talked to over AIM for a long time was online. So I switched to my regular AIM account - and that person wasn't there. Hmmm.

I switched back to the secret account - the person is there. I switch back, the person isn't there. Yes, I did check my buddy list and settings to make sure the person was there and I hadn't blocked them by accident.

Is this an AIM bug? Or did this person block me? I know they remain visible to users not on their buddy list, since I was able to see them on my secret account...

Any thoughts? This intrigues me.

i dont know but ive had a similar issue. after a reinstall of Im I was adding buddys back to my moms list. she has all us kids on there. anyway some wernt registering as online even tho they were. to fix it that person had to IM teh name and I had to "add buddy" from there. then they poped online. BUT teh other name i put in. which is exactly teh same staied off line.

i think its a bug

Does anyone know how to enable this on the newest version of AIM? I can't seem to find this option in the newest version and I lost my older version of AIM. 🙁
 
I was not stalking girls on the internet. I hadn't even thought about this until I noticed that this person showed up on one list but not another.
 
You're blocked. If you don't think so, just try IM'ing them from your normal screenname...you don't have to have someone in your buddy list to IM them ya know 😉

Ok - I IM'ed them from my normal screenname, and it didn't work. I have an AIM client running on my file server and it shows this person online.

Eh, this doesn't make me feel too good. >_<
