hey,
I am trying to get any version of aim to work on vista. I hate version 6.0 and higher. they take up a shit ton of ram and use no features that i enjoy. I would like to use 5.9 if possible but i installed it and after a few restarts it stopped being able to load. I started to use trillian but dont like it as much as 5.9 aim. If you know anyway to get 5.9 to work or if you know a good aim that works with vista please let me know. thanks for your help.
 
How did you get 5.9 to work? i installed it, it worked for a little while then everytime i tried to start it, nothing would happen. I checked the processes and it was in there but nothing was happening.
 
i didn't have to do anything. i searched for a 5.9 download, which was available on AOL's site, and installed it. it works fine. it's version 5.9.6089. i get a crash of the program every time i try to exit it, but that's harmless and it could be related to how i removed the ads.
 
I have tried that a few times and it has never worked. everytime after reboot the aim wont come back up when i try to click on it. Any one else have this problem? Any one else solve this problem?
