AIM memory leak on WinXP

does anyone else have a problem with aim with their winxp? i have winxp with aim 4.7.2480 and it leaks bad....i see memory usage in taks manager in the 500's in just a few days, and when i close aim it goes down to like 200 (where it should be). both my pc's have this prob, anyone else?

idling at 6296k. i dunno. my aim has been up for about 3 days now. aim me if u want: bangsailio =)

under the processes tab task manager will show aim with a low 5-10mb mem usage but while looking at the performance tab try turning off aim, and see ur ram usage drop like crazy....well at least to both my pc's it does...

My AIM 4.3.2229 only uses 4064k.

I wish there was a place where I can find older versions of software. I dont have a use for 90% of AIMs features. Just IM, and send files, and thats IT. No picture send, no aim phone, no video chat, NO TICKER, none of this useless bloat!

I found that if you use IM images, and paste an image into your IM window, the size of that image is also stored in ram, and will increase the amount of ram AIM wants.

Problem solved as soon as you close that window with the images.
