AIM logs on and off?

Hello. I seem to lose connection to AIM frequently. Every couple hours during they day, every hour or so at night (random, no pattern). This has only happened since I got to college. (I reformatted as well, so it may be one or the other). I checked my friends' online times, and theirs are fine and long, so it's not the network connection. It wouldn't be a big deal, but it takes focus, makes games crash, etc, and it's a false alarm for my parents when they think I'm active when it's really my AIM trying to reconnect. Any suggestions? Thanks.
 
Hmmm... well, no routers here... anyone else?

I tried changing my location to my home ZIP so that maybe I'd connect to the server I connected to at home.
 
Hate to ask a stupid question, but have you troubleshooted that it is in fact AIM that keeps logging out, or is it your net connection that just cuts off? (Like do you have any other resident programs that are online)
 
No problem... haha 😉

Yeah, I'm running mIRC, Bittorrent, FTPs, etc. etc. (I don't have a TV-gotta download my eps 😉) anyway, they never lose connections, it's purely an AIM thing. I've got a ZoneAlarm Firewall, but I doubt that's it.
