the hack doesn't work very well. after i leave the window minimized for awhile, i'll maximize it and find a banner kinda floating between the toolbar and the buddy list, covering up the first few names. :(

i made a much better hack, i wrote a program in VB that just sqeezed the banners out of view using the windows API and a nice control spy to find the proper handles, worked like a charm, i never gave it to anyone at the time except my girlfriend, she was impressed, but then the newer version of AIM came out and id have to modify the prog. that was overa year ago, i guess i could do it again, it would be easier this time having done it once before.

As some other people have said, all I want to know is: why? Who cares about that banner? It's like all those programs that are free, but if you register them for $20 it "gets rid of the ad banners." woo-hoo....not worth $20. It's not like you HAVE to click on them or anything.
