When I do Get File on my friend's screen name, AIM sends a list of the files that he is sharing. I was wondering if this list is generated on the fly, or is it a file located somewhere on his computer. Thanks!
 
i'd assume it is generated on the fly, because you can share folders as well, and it would then have to read what is in the folder and tell it to you.
 
It's re-created everytime someone attempts to get files and resides on the person's computer who is getting the files.
