I have the latest version of AOL Instant Messenger - AIM. I know I know - aol is for evil simpletons 🙂. Anyhow humor me as a simpleton and see if you know what my problem is. About 99% of the time - I am able to see another users away message. Sometimes I find someone who when I try and view their away message I get the following error -
The text has characters that cannot be
displayed with this system's fonts, and instead
are displayed with substitute characters.
After clicking OK - i get noting in the box that would normally display the away message.
Any ideas on what is causing this - I imagine they have some sort of character set that isnt available on my local machine - is there a way to find out what they are using?
If you dont have anything productive to say then dont flame.
