AIM Buddy Icons Not Displaying

This problem has been happening for some time. For some odd reason my AIM buddy icons don't appear. The AIM options say that they are on, but when i IM one of my friends it does not show my icon AND their icon to the left of the IM box. I've tried everything, even deleting my buddy list and reloading it via the "Save Buddy List" option. I tried switching to trillian to see if it would display the icons. No luck. If anyone is having the same problem post here, and if anyone knows the solution it would be greatly appreciated. I also reformatted to see if it was that but the buddy icons just dont show for my friends.
