<< Is there any way around this? I mean, can I do a registry change? Or is there some way of tricking IE into thinking the file is smaller than it really is? I have a neat animated .gif I want to use but it's too big! >>

Dude... that's how it is, and that's how it's been for the longest time. Why is it so hard to simply follow the rules!? When you own AOL, you can break your own rules.

Just edit the animated GIF. Take out some colors and it'll be smaller...

I did... it started off as 130 kb and I got it down to around 23 :)

hmm...aim should do some sorta update that allows for larger sizes...but then again there are still people using modems :D
