AIM + Blackberry???

So, I just set up my blackberry so that I can receive AIM messages when I am marked away via forwarding. What I really want to know is if there is a way to run AIM on my blackberry so that I can shut down my system and still be on AIM with my blackberry.

Has anyone done that? I see some softwares that charge like $50 to do it, but I would assume AIM has a way to do it just for them for free.

forward messages to your mobile phone, then put in your blackberry number? though this will mean you recieve all IMs as text, and can't be away.

edit: looks like you're already doing that. I do not know of an AIM program that can be run on blackberries that is free.

Isn't there a way to run it as an application on my blackberry though? I want to basically receive them on my BB when I'm not on a computer and if I'm logged in on a computer receive them there instead. Maybe I'm too picky.

Have you tried just signing out and having someone send you an IM without you being signed in? I thought with AIM Forwarding, it forwards whenever you're away and/or signed out, not just when you're away.
