Where does AIM save away messages?

Pretty sure it was local awhile ago. I think it is on a central server now though.

It's in the Registry,
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\America Online\AOL Instant Messenger (TM)\CurrentVersion\Users\SCREEN_NAME_GOES_HERE\IAmGoneList

|________ Give the man a cookie... it is in the registry. You can also delete the default ones from here like... windows logoff or the gaming one.

I can't delete the "Default Away Message" how do i stop that from coming back?
