AIM and AOL.COM down??

Is it just me or is the ENTIRE aol site down? I can get to every site but that one, and i cant connect to AIM. Thought it was my old version of AIM at first, but then i realized i couldnt get to the site to download the new one. Trilliant wont work either. I dunno maybe it's just me. Id be kind of surprised if AOL'S surely clustered server configuration went down. Maybe its a DNS problem or something, though. Anyone else notice this?

Open a command line window and see if you can ping www.aol.com (and see if dns resolves the url). Are you at work behind a firewall?

ok that was weird....i just restarted and all of a sudden everything is working again. I have stock in AOL, too. Scared me for a second...

and yeah, i did try to ping aol.com. It timed out. i couldnt even access www.aoltimewarner.com. I'm on dialup through VEI Internet and NOT behind any firewall. But it was almost like i had an active ANTI-AOL filter on my machine for a while there. Weird...

yeah aol is fine. It must have just been my config or something. Probably my ISP blocking everything aol-related lol. You can't ping aol because i think they have that blocked.

Does anyone know how to either view a chat history... or at least log chat sessions using AIM?

try using aim+ or MyIM (http://go.to/myaim)
both programs eliminate ads and log im sessions

i use trillian for my im needs.. does chat history, no ads..
