If you go back to trillian you may want to stay away from the newest version. It has utter crap for IRC support and is a bit more resource intensive than 2.0.

This, or just use an old version :)

trillian because it does my aim and icq in one

i actually like trillian3, and my system is strong enough to support memory intensive apps such as firefox, photoshop and trillian3.

edit: UD rosetta too, thats a big one

BTW, most of the hacks (deadaim, middle_man, aimutation) won't work with the newest AIM's. And even if they did, they don't prevent AIM from using about 33+MB of memory. Trillian3 sits in my RAM right now at 8MB, connected to AIM, Yahoo, MSN, Jabber, and Rendezvous whilst running a mail plugin, a weather plugin, and a share watching plugin. Until just ONE of the IM clients considers making a lite version which slims its memory footprint down to below 10MB, I won't consider switching away from Trillian.

PS - I run trillian on a P4M 1.8 thinkpad with 512MB memory, and it runs fine. It's really not as much of a performance hog as most people make it out to be.

I hated trillian, much prefer gaim. Anything beats the original client though
