AIM 5.9 and Vista

I recently formatted my computer and reinstalled Vista on it. I use AIM 5.9 (I love the simplicity, don't want anything else), and it had worked fine forever. Now, after the reinstall, it doesn't work at all. When I double-click it, it doesn't even come up. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Maybe a uninstallation & reinstallation of AIM will help. Give that a try, and if it still won't work, look in your Windows Event Viewer logs :camera: for any events that might shed light on the nature of the problem.

To open Event Viewer, go to Start > All Programs > Accessories, right-click Command Prompt and choose "Run as Administrator." Then use the Command Prompt to run the command compmgmt.msc.

Thanks for the help, but I ended up finding another solution-- it's a simple registry fix but it works fine now.
