AIM 5.0 on XP

Does anyone else's AIM lag on connection? It'll go through the first 3 steps fine, and when the buddy list starts to show up, it kinda freezes for like 10-20 seconds, and then the buddy list completely shows? I have 5 other friends who's is like this, and some who's isnt. All running 5.0 on XP. Any help? Thanks.
