Aileron Roll vs. Barrel Roll

Up until recently I thought they were the same thing.

edit: the instructions are wrong. the proper way to do a barrel roll is to double tap the left or right shoulder buttons

Aileron roll keeps you on the same axis. Barrel roll is like you're rolling over the outside of a large barrel.
