Finally figured out why my left side jaw is all sensitive, the damn thing finally broke through the gum. Feels funny when I drink anything cold and I've had funny taste in my mouth for the last two days.

Any thoughts on how to limit the discomfort? I'd prefer w/o painkillers, as I'm not in pain.

Meh, I'm in my late 20s. I thought those things take time.
Wisdom teeth usually aren't just erupting in your late twenties. They usually come in, if they are going to, before that.

I will bet you have pericoronitis.

Also, if a wisdom tooth doesn't fully erupt (aka it is impacted to any degree), and you don't have an opposing fully erupted tooth, you will not be using it for chewing.

I wish I had my wisdoms removed when they came in, but was lazy and didn't. They compacted all of my teeth, and now my front teeth crossed over each other and eventually cracked. Now I need more work than if I just had them removed originally.

I never had any discomfort with my coming in (still have them, they're pretty much fully in). It's kind of a weird feeling as they break through and little pieces of your gums are hanging off, but that's about it.

I had my wisdom tooth come in and then half molars followed them. Not sure how unusual it is but my dentist was surprised. He says they'll probably have to come out since it'll be hard to clean that far back. But he says there's no hurry unless it's bothering me.

You can try oral-jel to numb the area for a bit.

Negative on that, no redness or swelling or anything and no pain. I can use them just fine, but it feels funny to temperature and what not.

OK... made you look it up though. ;)

First thing that comes to mind when someone insists there is pain/funny taste in the third molar area when teeth are erupting is periocoronitis.

Ha yeah,
it's actually better now than earlier in the morning - maybe i'm just getting used to the sensation or something.

Okie silly dilly dokie-o, I'm an idiot...

that discomfort is my sinuses. Made the discovery that my upper cheek bones are a lot more sore/sensitive than my teeth...
