Does this use DRM? I am not completely opposed to DRM when necessary, but I'd want to be able to install this onto new builds that are being tested and rebuilt constantly so any sort of annoying DRM would kill the deal for me. If not, I'll pick up a copy.

This version can be used on up to 3 computers in a home setting, gets updates for 12 months, support via forum, and continues to work in whatever ability the final version within the 12 months of support has for as long as you want. Update only when you need new features. I've been using an old Aida32 for about 10 years I think, still grabs most of what I want, management of licenses.

From the License section on the web page.

License variants

Each product has its own type of license:

1. AIDA64 Extreme Edition Personal License
This license is intended for home use, and permits a single person to install and use the product on up to 3 computers. Other persons should not use it.

2. AIDA64 Business Edition License
This license is intended for corporate network use within one company. When purchasing, you must indicate the number of computers (nodes) that comprise the network, in order to obtain the required number of licenses. The product should not be used outside of the company.

3. AIDA64 Extreme Edition Engineer License
This license is intended for one corporate engineer and permits that person to install and use the product on an unlimited number of computers, but only in a single company. A freelance computer specialist may use an engineer license to provide services to others.

Is that 3 different installs or unlimited installs on 3 different motherboards?

I don't know, assume the worst and I still found it worth it for $10 and bought one. Our house has 3 computer users, but all of us have at least two computers when laptops etc. are included. OTOH my old version does still "work" and some of the systems like a work related laptop get ZERO unauthorized software on them, so I wouldn't be installing this on all PCs anyway.
