Aida32 discontinued
As of March 24, 2004 we have decided to discontinue the development project that we all know as AIDA32. Development of AIDA32 has been started years ago, and the project went first public in April 2001. AIDA32 has become the de facto standard for both home and corporate system diagnosis and network audit, winning several awards including "Freeware Product of the Year" by Support Alert newsletter in December 2002.

Aida32.hu has well served this project almost without any issues, providing access to over half a million of users in 150 countries worldwide. For the exceptional quality of service, we'd like to send our special thanks to Hunet Kft, our internet service provider and software supplier.

Introduced to many of us by Thugs... a program that has been used by me ever since the day I read his post.

Sad to see the best program of its class disappear all of a sudden.

:( This is a sad day, I'll go read the article, but did they say they are going to do a new product or anything, or are they just gone now?

Edit: Ok, I checked. Apparently they're done with it and are recommending other companies' programs for future usage.

Edit #2: Anyone else looked at Everest's Home edition? Looks very similar to AIDA and has a few options that AIDA doesn't. From a quick look, it seems like a good alternative.

Yup, I downloaded all three versions just for sentimentality :(

Never knew about PC Wizard, looks nice. Thanks for the linkage, might just become my new favorite

The PC Wizard isn't as nice as Aida but it's better than Sandra. I dislike Sandra.

I haven't read about Lavalys too much yet but they must have bought/secured permission from AIDA32 to clone the program so closely, either that or they bought it from them outright.

NNNOOOOOOOOOoooooo........
:(

Farewell, great program.

There, as an act of perservation, I've downloaded all files available on the site. I wonder if it'd be ok for me to put it in the public folder of my website? Don't see why not...anyone here know if this'd somehow violate any laws or rules of software etiquette? It's not like I'm charging for it, or depriving anyone of money or credit for it. Just a file mirror. :)

clone is an understatment. nice find.
Good god, I can't believe my eyes. The only thing I can't find that I was used to in AIDA32 is the Net Update option...

Thanks PliotronX.

Geez, it's almost like they just copied AIDA32 and gave it a new splash screen. Maybe they gave the writer of AIDA32 a job, or a payoff? Or something; hopefully they went through legitemate channels. :)
Hmm, they changed the font; seems a bit narrower in Everest. I can live with it.
Aaah, I suddenly feel better now. AIDA32 died for...something, and has now been ressurrected. :p
