AHYJA Core on Athlon 1.33/1.4 Ghz, anyone know what this is?

I was looking to buy a 1.4ghz Athlon at www.bzboyz.com and I noticed that the site is offering it with an AHYJA core rather than the AXIA core for about 15 dollars more. There is also an option that states, "Send me AHYJA Core with 3rd Line which starts with: Y," for a few dollars more. I am assuming this core is better/runs cooler than an AXIA seeing as how it costs more, however I have no clue as to what the third line issue is about. Could someone please clarify both of these matters for me? Thanks...

Actually, it's AYHJA as opposed to AHYJA 😛.

AYHJA is the new stepping appearing on 1.33GHz and 1.4GHz Athlons. These chips are apparently great overclockers, with some sites reporting that some chips will clock to 1.6GHz or even 1.7GHz.

I would suggest not paying the extra. I believe all new 1.33/1.4ghz Tbirds are that new stepping...they are charging extra for something you would get anyway.

All 1.4s are AHJYA
Newer 1.33 are AHJYA (Inventory shelflife crapshoot)
Third line "Y" in serial number avail IN CONJUNCTION with either
1.33 or 1.4
1.4 with AHJYA and "Y" in serial supposed to be best for O/C.
If you dont push to limit - forget it.
But now that 1.4 Palo's are avail., maybe extra money should better be spent here instead.

where can you get the palo's????? also is it worth paying the extra money for a palo 1.4 instead of a regular??? what kind of overclocking differences will i see, do they run alot cooler???

The Athlon MP CPU's for the new AMD 760MP Muli-Processor boards are using the same core as the mobile Palamino...the Athlon4. They are missing one feature however, Power Now!, but that is it. If you look on Pricewatch, you can see the Athlon MP for sale in 1ghz and 1.2ghz speeds, but the 1.4ghz MP's are not available yet..maybe in a week or so. There are some sites listing them already though. They are a bit pricey too...$300 for a 1.4ghz Palo...
