What the new administration is doing is hardly sticking our nose in their politics. Passive measures like not vilifying Iran every chance we get can go a long way. A moderate candidate has a good chance of winning the upcoming election, and with a moderate in office the US might be able to have a more constructive relationship w/Iran. It's hard to say how much Obama's change in policy toward Iran has to do with this, I think malcontent with Ahmadinejad is high for a number of reasons. I'm sure this change of direction w/US policy toward Iran certainly helped, though.Originally posted by: chucky2
Oh no LL, I just don't want the US/West doing what you and yours have bashed Bush for doing for 8 years...you know, meddling in the affairs of other countries.
The people of Iran have elected him, and they'll either chose to elect him again or not.
They're getting what they want...who are we to "really weaken Ahmadinejad and strength his moderate opponent in hundreds of subtle ways" ?????
Surely you aren't suggesting the US/West stick its nose into the business of other countries????
I must be mistaken in what I read here......
